How to add an SSL Certificate in Direct Admin Print

Step 1: Log in to DirectAdmin

Log in to DirectAdmin using the details provided in your New Account Information Email.

If you cannot find this email, please check your junk/spam folder or open a support ticket via your client area.

Login URL:

Enter your DirectAdmin username and password to proceed.


Step 2: Access SSL Certificates

Once logged in, navigate to:

Account Manager → SSL Certificates


Step 3: Enable Let’s Encrypt (ACME)

  • Select “Get automatic certificate from ACME Provider”
  • Ensure the correct radio button is selected

This option uses Let’s Encrypt via the ACME protocol to automatically issue your SSL certificate.


Step 4: Select Domains and Subdomains

Choose the domain(s) and any subdomains you want to secure, such as:

  • domain.com
  • www.domain.com
  • mail.domain.com
  • webmail.domain.com

Tip: Make sure to include www if you want it covered.


Step 5: Enter Email Address (Optional)

You may enter an email address to receive expiry or recovery notifications.


Step 6: Issue the Certificate

Click “Save” or “Issue” to begin the process.

DirectAdmin will now validate your domain and install the SSL certificate automatically.
This usually takes a few seconds to a minute.


Step 7: Verify SSL Installation

Once complete, test your website by visiting:

Notes

  • Ensure your domain is pointing to the server before issuing the certificate
  • If validation fails, double-check DNS settings and try again
  • Certificates will renew automatically when using Let’s Encrypt
